Harvard Business Council (HBC) hosted the HBC 2023 International Awards, which took place at Conrad Abu Dhabi Etihad Towers, marking the award’s first ever in-person event outside the United States. Distinguished personalities and organizations from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region were in attendance, accentuating the HBC’s commitment to fostering global business excellence. The event enjoyed the valued partnership of the Abu Dhabi Police GHQ, while AD Ports Group and Cerebri served as the HBC Gold and Platinum Sponsors, respectively.
In 2016, the HBC International Awards were developed to recognize organizations and individuals worldwide that have demonstrated exceptional performance, innovation, and success in their respective fields. Among the 2,000 submissions received for this year’s cycle, 13 total winners were awarded in various categories, including Etihad Rail, the developer and operator of the UAE National Rail Network.
Etihad Rail received the Harvard Business Council (HBC) Organizational Diamond Award for its commitment to excellence and innovation in establishing a world-class rail network and contributions to transforming the transportation sector in the UAE. Since inaugurating the network in February 2023 and launching freight train operations across the UAE, Etihad Rail is providing customers with cheaper, faster, safer, more reliable, and environmentally sustainable services. By spearheading innovation and adopting sustainable practices, Etihad Rail’s state-of-the-art network is poised to improve the way goods and people move, opening new trade corridors and playing a vital role in the UAE’s economic diversification.
