December 13 10:04 2018

Iowa City, IA – December 13, 2018 – Stories embroiled in a spiritual dimension with dashed dreams and karma has always captured the interests and fixation of people. Such a book is “Marvin’s Garden” written by Joseph Brisben. The book was published on October 16, 2018, in eBook, paperback and hardback formats and it’s now available on the Amazon store.

“Marvin’s Garden” recounts the story of Madge Duckworth, who thought she had found the ideal husband in Marvin only to be abused horribly by him. Find out how the scores settle finally after Madge’s demise due to cancer.

There are some gripping details to “Marvin’s Garden” that can get readers hooked and unable to put the book down. Joseph Brisben has put together a mind stimulating tale of the ghost of a woman who wanted to murder her cruel, greedy and gluttonous husband who had abused her badly when she was alive. True enough that she married him as he seemed to fit into her ideal of a husband as a wide-eyed, demure maiden. But the dream turned into a nightmare. She failed to get her vengeance at her husband when she was alive. But, now that she’s in the realm of the supernatural, things are advantageous at the end at long last.

About the writing of “Marvin’s Garden,” and his authorship, Joseph Brisben had this to say,

“I write to inspire, be creative, please others, schedule readings and signings, sell books, and have fun. I know I’m crazy, but that’s what keeps me sane.“

In the publishing of the book, “Marvin’s Garden,” Joseph Brisben has used his creative storytelling style and verve to gather ideas for fiction. Brisben has diverse interests, and his writing stints didn’t take off until he was in his 30s – after taking two creative writing courses from the late Hilary Masters at Drake University. After taking more writing courses at the University of Iowa, Brisben wrote Christmas stories with a difference – jettisoning the Christmassy glamour and falling back on the basic generosity of the human spirit.

The quote, “Always do right – this will gratify some people and astonish the rest,” by Mark Twain is something Joseph Brisben feels strongly about.
